Mengistu Hailemariyam
Ex-President Mengistu Hailemariam outlines an excellent brief account and analysis of Ethiopian history starting from the Axumite empire up until the revolution. His in depth account of his rise to power and relations with Aman is very commendable. However, his account about some of the horrific events during and after the revolution is marred by his total lack of accountability. He is insufferable when it comes to taking responsibility about some of the events that transpired under his watch especially the unjust death sentence of the 59 former officials. A decision he hastily approved and signed by his BIC pen during his march to power. It is ludicrous that he actually blames it on the shoulder of the people. It is also disappointing that he doesn't discuss about the 17 year war that has been the hallmark of his regime.
